Boris Jekić

Pianist

 Boris Jekić, pianist, accompanist of various repertoire for string and wind instruments as well as solo singers, professor of piano, accompaning and chamber music, with extensive experience in working with students of all ages. 

Biography

      Boris Jekić was born in 1986 in Šabac, Serbia. He finished Elementary and High School ,,Mihailo Vukdragović’’ in Šabac in the class of professor Helena Davidović. Bachelor and Master studies graduated at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad with highest degree (10.00) in the class of professor Svetlana Bogino. After Master studies during 2010 and 2011 he was studying at the Conservatorio ,,Giuseppe Tartini’’ in Trieste, Italy with professor Igor Cognolato.

During his studies he participated in many national and international competitions:

  • National Competition for young pianists, Belgrade, Serbia, 1.prize, year 1999.
  • Festival for young pianists "Mihailo Vukdragovic", Šabac, Serbia, 1.prize, year 1999.
  • Festival for young pianists "Mihailo Vukdragovic", Šabac, Serbia, 1.prize, year 2000.
  • Festival for young pianists "Mihailo Vukdragovic", Šabac, Serbia, 1.prize, year 2001.
  • Festival for young pianists "Mihailo Vukdragovic", Šabac, Serbia, 1.prize, year 2002.
  • International Piano Competition "Memorial Isidor Bajic", Novi Sad, Serbia, 1.prize, year 2004.
  • Forum Pianistico "Citta di Chioggia", Chioggia, Italy, 1. prize, year 2005.

     He was a regular participant in final concerts of the "European Piano Teachers Association"(EPTA). During the EPTA Master classes he had the opportunity to work with renowned piano professors such as Jokut Mihajlovic and Kemal Gekic. He also attended many other master classes and summer schools, where he worked with Ayako Curuta, Karl Ponten, Cristophe Bernard, Konstatin Bogino, Arbo Valdma, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Igor Cognolato.

     He was performing on the concerts as soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in Serbia, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Holland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Austria. In 2005 he performed Beethoven Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 4 in G Major with Orchestra Sinfonica di Chioggia during The Festival "Musica in Laguna" in Italy where he was chosen by the jury as one of the best pianist at the festival. In 2008 he played in Sinagogue (in Novi Sad,Serbia) Chopin Concerto for piano and orchestra E Minor with the Orchestra of Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, after the audition where he was chosen as one of the best students of Academy of Arts. That concert was live broadcast by the Radio Television Vojvodina. In 2013 on competition ,,Talents of Europe’’ won prize as accompanist for the best performance of composition of the 20th century. 

    He was official accompanist on the ,,Stringfest’’ in Sremska Mitrovica and the  ,,International Gathering Of Violinists’’ in Sremski Karlovci.    

     He was collaborated with many renowned artists such as Nataša Penezić, Radu Ropotan, Nemanja Petković, Manca Rupnik, Ervand Agadžanjan, Vasilij Meljnikov, Marko Milenković i drugi.

     Since 2007 he work as piano professor and accompanist in the Music school "Mihailo Vukdragovic" in Šabac. He is one of the teachers in Creative and Educational Center ,,Music Atelier'' in Novi Sad. As piano professor and accompanist with his students he is winning prizes on all level domestic and international competitions.
